Why Every Working Mum Needs Passive Income in 2025

So, my daughter had a sleepover last weekend.

I say “sleepover” but let’s be honest — nobody sleeps. Least of all me, who ends up being the snack-runner, pool safety officer, and designated ‘mum DJ’ when the girls want exactly the right version of their favourite TikTok sound for their dance routine.

Let me paint the picture:
✨ Matching pyjamas? Check.
🧜‍♀️ Swimming because they “need to be mermaids”? Of course.
🍕 Favourite takeaway? Ordered.
💄 DIY makeup and a full salon roleplay? You bet — I was booked in for an appointment called “Glitter Explosion”.
🎬 Movie + “midnight feast” (which was actually at 10pm because we’re still pretending we’re cool)? Nailed it.

They had the time of their lives. And honestly, I did too, in between the biscuit crumbs and glitter ground into my carpet.

But as I watched them giggle through face masks and plan out their next spa day like mini CEOs, I had this massive emotional whack in the face moment — my girl is growing up. Like… fast.

High school’s knocking. And with it comes the avalanche of school trips, new shoes every five minutes, birthday parties, and that terrifying whisper: “Mum, can I have a phone?” 😳

Let’s not even talk about the prices of everything going up like they’re chasing Elon Musk’s rocket.

And that’s when it hit me again — thank goodness I started building my online business when I did.

I work full-time. I’m the default parent. I juggle, spin, hustle, and occasionally cry into my tea.
So when I say I built this business in the messy gaps between work, dinner, and bedtime chaos — I mean it.

I didn’t know what I was doing at the start. I made mistakes. I wasted time on things that got me nowhere.
But now? I’ve cracked it. And I want to show you how to do the same — without wasting the precious time you don’t have.

Because if there’s one thing that hits you after a sleepover full of squeals and sparkles, it’s this:

  1. Hi Sarah – It is amazing how life just happens, right? Jobs change, responsibilities increase, families expand, the economy is subject to unpredictable influences and, as you identified, kids grow up. All three of my children have grown up and are living their lives. Two are doing just fine, and one is struggling at the moment. But they are growing in age and continue to grow in knowledge and wisdom. As we all do. I love it how you’ve identified the need to embrace the moment right now, as you did with the exciting sleepover. But you have also identified how times will change very quickly. They will change physically, emotionally, financially and a whole lot of other words that end in …lly. This is why we prepare. The package that you have put together has tremendous value and is extremely cost effective! I wish I had something like this when my children were young. I wish you the best of success and hope others see the value and jump on this opportunity. Have an incredible day and go enjoy that girl of yours!

    1. Thank you so much for your kind words and encouragement—it truly means a lot! Life really does fly by, and I’m so grateful for every moment I get to spend with my girl while she’s still little.

  2. I took a course these last few weeks about the mindset of abundance, and what that means to me. (See my latest blog post). The course was given by my favorite teacher, Dr Joe Dispenza.

I discovered that Dr Joe’s meditations slow down time. In this 3 week period, I developed the courage to launch my membership site!!

    Invaluable!!

  3. The sleepover story was hilarious and definitely relatable – it’s amazing how quickly kids grow up. The starter bundle sounds like a great deal for anyone looking to build an online business without getting overwhelmed. It’s so inspiring how you’ve turned the chaos of daily life into a successful venture! Wwhat’s one piece of advice you’d go back and tell yourself when you were first starting out?

    1. That’s a really good question. I would definitely tell myself to have more confidence and just “go for it!”. I spent many months pondering and convincing myself that I couldn’t do it. I find a lot of mums in the rat race don’t give themselves enough credit and I really hope that along my journey I will inspire someone to think outside the box and go for it! x

  4. Sarah, I really connected with your story about juggling family life while building something for the future. I’m also balancing looking for a job, running an affiliate business, and looking after family — I even cared for my elderly father before he passed recently. The bit about doing it all between dinner and bedtime chaos? That’s my life too. I’ve made loads of mistakes trying to figure things out, but I keep pushing because I want more time freedom and security for my family. Thanks for showing it’s possible, even when life is full of glitter explosions and snack runs!
