The trouble is, you think you have time.

Let’s talk about something we all have, but never seem to have enough of: Time. Now, before you roll your eyes and think, “Here we go, another ‘time is precious’ speech,” hang with me for a second, because this is important. And I promise, I’ll make it worth your time (pun fully intended).

Here’s the deal: you can make more money, and trust me, I can show you how to do that. Whether it’s with side hustles, online gigs, or passive income streams that let you earn while binge-watching Netflix, the options are endless. But what you can’t do is make more time. If I could bottle that up and sell it, I’d be a billionaire. But, spoiler alert—I can’t.

Time is this magical, elusive thing that just keeps ticking away no matter what. You know what I’m talking about! You blink, and it’s Monday again. Or you sit down to scroll through TikTok for “five minutes,” and suddenly, it’s midnight. Where does it go? It’s like it has its own sneaky agenda. And the worst part? Once it’s gone, it’s gone.

I was hit hard with this reality recently. My dad, who normally acts like a superhero who’s too tough for hospitals, volunteered to go to one. You know something’s up when that happens. And if that wasn’t enough of a wake-up call, I lost a friend. She was sick, but I truly thought she’d be okay. Add Baby Loss Memorial Week to the mix, and let me tell you, it was one of those days that just makes you sit down and think.

Now, I’m not trying to be all doom and gloom here, but these moments reminded me of something important: time is not guaranteed. And while it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of making money (which I am getting batter at by the way—just saying), it’s even more important to remember that time is the real treasure.

Let’s be honest—we all want the dream house, the holiday that makes our Instagram feed look like a travel brochure, and a life that’s sprinkled with luxury. But here’s the truth: those things can wait. What can’t wait is spending time with the people you love, doing the things that make you happy, and living in the moment.

Think about it. You can always figure out how to make more cash (I’ve got you covered on that front!), but once you’ve spent your time, that’s it. No refunds, no exchanges. So, why waste it? Instead, let’s be smart about how we use it. Spend it on things that really matter—those small moments that you’ll look back on and smile about.

And here’s the fun part: we can absolutely have it all. You can make money, live your best life, AND still cherish your time. The secret? It’s all about balance. You don’t have to sacrifice time with your family or doing what you love just to make a living. There are smart ways to work and earn that don’t require you to be chained to a desk or glued to your phone 24/7. That’s the magic of the online world—endless opportunities!

So, let’s stop obsessing over the things we can always make more of (looking at you, money) and start valuing the one thing we can’t. Let’s be intentional with our time and make sure we’re spending it on the things that really matter. And yes, you can totally have your dream life while doing it. I’ll be right here, cheering you on and helping you make those dreams come true.

Now go out there and make the most of your precious time! Oh, and if you need help turning that time into money—well, you know where to find me.

  1. Hi Sarah – I could not agree with your post more! The time we have is so valuable and so finite and unfortunately, we often take it for granted. I’m very sorry that you had a rough week and the consolation is you made it through, you made the most of it, and you had this realization or possibly reminder of your precious time. I was just talking with a friend yesterday about my online business and some of the things I am doing to supplement my income. He listened very close and asked me why I chose to do these things. I told him so that I could be doing things just like what I was doing at the moment, spending time with a friend. My friend had taken the day off to assist his wife with many things and also so that we could hang out. He works a very difficult and high-pressure job and has to take the time off. I didn’t take the time off as my job is working in the background today through my Facebook lead ads. However, when I get back, I will put in some time to make sure I expand my business. My point is I got to spend my time the way that I wanted to. He had to take off for his time. That used to be me. Thank you for this reminder of the resource that we can never replenish as you state in your post!

    1. Thank you Ernie. They say of you have good health, time and wealth (money) you have it all. I’m my terms, I get to have breakfast with my family and nip out for lunch with my husband evert now and again. I feel like I’m the wealthiest woman with that change of mindset, but I’d love to do it more…

  2. Hi Sarah, yes the passing of a loved one brings everything in perspective. In other realms of consciousness, “time” as WE know it doesn’t exist. This transformative idea can change everything. For example, instead of dwelling on the stress of “there isn’t enough time,” instead place the mind in the sphere of the infinite, the eternal. That’s what I wrote about this week, because a high school friend of mine lost his daughter and wrote a book about how she began to communicate with him in the after death state. You can tune into your friend in many ways. She will appreciate your efforts.

  3. Sarah, This post really hit home, and I couldn’t agree more! First off, congratulations on all the amazing work you’re doing, especially in finding that balance between making money and valuing time. It’s so true—time is the one thing we can’t get back, and your story about your dad and the loss of a friend really brings that reality into focus. It’s a powerful reminder that we shouldn’t wait for wake-up calls to start appreciating the moments we have. I feel like that with my Dad at the moment.

I love how you point out that while it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle of making money (and hey, you’re getting better at it, kudos for that!), the real treasure is time. The way you balanced that message with some practical advice about side hustles and passive income was spot-on too. It’s reassuring to hear that we can achieve financial goals without sacrificing the time that matters most.

Thank you for reminding us to be intentional with our time, to cherish the people we love, and to find joy in the small moments. Your message truly inspires me to live more mindfully, and I appreciate all the support you’re offering to help others balance life and success. Keep up the fantastic work! Take care, Atif

    1. Time is the most precious thing we have, and I keep wishing for more of it! Enjoy every minute with the people you cherish. That’s the main thing x

    2. Hi Sarah, your words made me think about the time I have and what I do with it. I like when you said if I had a way to bottle it up, I would have been billionaire! Because you’re right, everybody needs more time, an would like to optimize what he already has to benefit a maximum of the preferred moments. Regarding money, we have to sacrifice time initially to build our money making machine, in order to make more money and free up more time later. It’s this aspect I found the most difficult because achieving our goals starts by optimizing this time you pass in front of your laptop such that it’s not too much affecting your environment and relations with your loved ones. Thank you Sarah, your words are made of wisdom and this is reassuring.

  4. Hey Sarah,

Great post – and “timely” (pun intended!). Almost 4 years ago, I lost my Dad and my Ex-wife two months apart and it really brought home to me that we never know how much time we have left.

With everything else going on in my world, I lost that thought, and reading your article tonight has reminded me that what you say is right on – we think we have infintie time, but we really don’t know how much we do have.

I heard it explained one day that things we get for free, we value less than things we pay for – and that really does apply to time (for me anyway – I can’t speak for everybody obviously). Time is free, so it’s easy to take it for granted.

Thanks for the reminder Sarah. Keep up the great work!

    1. Thank you Sean. If you have time, health and wealth you have it all! We just unfortunately don’t know how much time we have left so make the most of it!

  5. Sara, awesome post! I so struggle with mindless scrolling because I get sidetracked or bored. I know it is a waste of my time, but I still do. That is a big area I am working on – stopping the mindless scrolling and if I am online, visit other’s Blogs or keep learning in the courses I signed up for or keep working on my Portugese. Make it productive. The reason I scroll so much is that it catches my interest. That is what I need to do with my bog and FB page and YouTube channel – catch their interest. I am working on it. I so enjoy your posts, keep it up!

    1. We all struggle! Our brains need a break too but make sure you spend the time on what makes you happy. We all need down time, but make the most of it….. its running out

  6. Hi Sarah,

What a powerful reminder of how valuable time truly is! It’s so easy to get caught up in the hustle and forget that while money can come and go, time never stops moving forward. Your words really emphasize the importance of balancing our time between making a living and cherishing the important moments. It’s inspiring to hear how you’ve found a way to not just focus on financial success but also remind us of what really matters in life. Thank you for this wake-up call, here’s to making the most of our time and living it to the fullest!

  7. Carpe Diem “Seize the day.” Sarah it is a rare day when I can get everything done. I always feel that there is a big laundary list of thing to do. As Dean says believe in the process, and the rest will take care of itself.

  8. Once again, your post is full of wisdom and great advice. Time certainly is precious and what we do with it is so important. I so resonate with what you are saying. Its well over half way through October and Christmas stuff is already appearing in the shops. Where did the year go? I don’t have time for this…

  9. Hi Sarah,
“Time is the only currency you spend without knowing the balance”
I’ve tried to keep that in mind as I grew older. Sometimes you think that you’re wasting a lot of time learning new things but you generally find out that they become quite important when you focus on what you want.
Starting and having an online business takes time, patience and learning – all of which will pay off, in time. (no pun intended).
    Thank you for the reminder!
