You’re Not Crazy- You’re Just First.

“WORTHY” written by Jamie Kern Lima is the best book I’ve read (so far) this year- Admittedly its very early in the year, but I can’t recommend this book enough. It’s just one of those books that makes you feel all warm and welcome.

Incredibly, this book launch came with a 7 hour “Worthy” LIVE event. There were some incredible speakers-Robin Roberts, Ed Mylett, Tony Robins, Jay Shetty, Oprah Winfrey and Ellen DeGeneres (as a surprise guest) plus many, many more. What an event it was! I learnt a lot, and plan to share some golden nuggets on my social media- so please follow if you want to know more.

My mindset has changed completely. I know it seems very short term, as it’s been a week since the event, but I have to admit I have dealt with problems this week very differently. I have walked with my shoulders back, paid my self more compliments and been more confident in difficult situations. I have finally posted videos on TikTok, I’ve spoken about my business more with confidence, and asked questions that I would have normally held myself back from. I even had some wisdom teeth out this week. If you have even been through this, I now sympathise. I have been in agony before and after the surgery, I felt very sorry for myself but brought myself out of it quicker than I would have done previously allowing me continue with my business with a smile. Ed Mylett and Tony Robins didn’t hold back on the live event and gave some incredible words of wisdom. One statement that I found really interesting was “Perfection is the lowest standard.” It really made me think, as we are conditioned to be perfect. Be the perfect child, student. wife. So having this new chapter of Affiliate Marketing where it is actually better not to be perfect in videos and be honest about your mistakes is so alleviating.  It was also very inspirational watching Jamie give back to younger entrepreneurs not as fortunate as others, and support them on their path. This is certainly something I want to aim for in the future. Once I’ve cracked it, I will certainly be teaching the next generation and inspiring them to do the same. Once a teacher…..always a teacher.

This isn’t a “self help” book, but it personally gave me a boost in my step. It’s more motivation for your business in making decisions and being successful.  It’s currently on sale and the audiobook is free (at the time of writing this post)

You’re Not Crazy- You’re Just First.

Whenever you mention affiliate marketing to people, you are probably familiar with THE look. The look of:

WHAT?

Are you mental?

You are giving up a job to sell things online?

It’s a scam, it has to be. If you could make money on line- everyone would be doing it…….

If you have experienced any of these comments, please don’t fret, worry, or even think twice about it. YOU ARE NOT CRAZY- YOU’RE JUST FIRST.

First in your family or social circle to change your path

First to know and understand there is a whole online world out there.

First to want more in life and know there is a better life waiting for you.

First to earn more money than people can comprehend.

YOU ARE NOT CRAZY- YOU’RE JUST FIRST.

Can you imagine the looks Walt Disney got when he said to his imagineers “I want to build a theme park.” I’m sure they all went in the break room to laugh. I’m sure when Bezos explained that he going to start being an online book seller from his garage, his family shared a playful glance at each other. Finally when Dean Holland spoke about affiliate marketing with his construction friends, and they all laughed at him.

They weren’t crazy- They were just first.

When days are challenging, and you are getting THE looks from people. Please remember, You are not Crazy, you are just the FIRST to break the mould in your family or community. Be the popstar in your own life and take control.

You are worthy to be an affiliate marketer. You are worthy to achieve what you want in life. You are worthy to be part of the beginner’s advantage community and you are worthy of all the success you will gain. You’re confidence will grow but make sure you know YOU ARE WORTHY. There is already an incredible and supportive community doing the same thing that you want to do. Please get in touch if you want to know more, I’d love to help you and get you on the right path. Asking questions doesn’t cost anything.

In life, you don’t get what you want, you get what you believe you are worthy of.

Stand out and be the first authentic you

  2. Yes!!! This post is so inspiring: believe in your worth and be the first to break the mold, surround yourself with a supportive community, like the Beginner’s Advantage, have confidence in your goals, never doubt your potential for success, and embrace your journey in affiliate marketing. I am on board!

  3. hi I would be interested to hear more about what exactly was different this week, how did you approach your business or the dentist this week in a way you would not have before….it sounds like the book had a big impact so I am keen to know in what ways.

    thanks

  4. Love this post. You are so right when you talk about the “look” when telling people what you are doing or thinking of doing. People generally cannot be supportive of things they don’t understand. You must be confident to realize that others may not have the desire or inspiration to do or be anything more than they have…and that is fine. If you are driven to explore something, you only have to answer to yourself.

    1. This is very true. Normally, people’s looks affect my day and I over think them. I have to say, this week, I’ve just started to talk to myself more than listen to the ones that don’t understand. They’ll want to know more when it all works and comes together

  5. Thanks for the book recommendation, Sarah!
It sounds like something I can use. I bought the audible version. I look forward to listening to it this week.
I have been feeling doubtful of my abilities. I keep wondering, “What have I gotten myself into?” LOL!
It’s a lot of work. And there’s technology involved. And you have to be so consistent despite whatever is going on in normal life. You know what I mean :), it turns out to be a lot more than I expected!
I’m looking forward to boosting my confidence! I was wondering how to go about it, so your recommendation is well-timed!

    1. This has made my day! Thank you for letting me know. Listen to it in the bath, or making a cup of tea or on a walk. I really enjoyed it and it really gave me a little leap this week.
I know what you mean, there is a lot of work involved but my WHY is very strong. I keep reminding myself of it. If you ever feel down or stuck. Please just reach out. I’m more than happy to help. I personally love your blog posts, this week in particular has helped me. Thank you

  6. Two great concepts.

“You’re not crazy, you’re just first”. That reminds me of something I heard – remember Orville Wright didn’t have a pilot’s license.

And “you are worthy” – something we often have a whole lot of other people telling us we aren’t and we don’t deserve what we’re going after; so they tell us we’re crazy. But it’s probably they don’t think they are worthy either.

  7. Love the recommendation, I will check it out. It’s exactly what I need. I saw the ad promoting the event but did not do it and now wish I had.

I am working on my goals and this morning included reading/listening to a book once a week to keep focused.

I have not spoken yet to close family members as you rightly point out some of the downsides…. But you’re right. I am the first in my family and community

So I need to be a bit further on and more confident before letting them know.
Love your site its clean, colorful, and easy to navigate…

  8. I was wondering why I was laughing so hard and for so long! Your entry says it all!
So many times I’ve called crazy for having started online businesses. Have they provided me with the financial success I was looking for? Nope.
But one thing it sure has done: given me the experience, knowledge and fortitude to not stop and go forward!
I know I’m on the right path; I just need a little more time.
Thanks for the reminder and confirming that I’m not crazy (well…ok, not clinically! LOL!)

  9. Sarah,
Great recommendation for the book. I will have to check it out. I like others, have shared my affiliate business with few others. I have shared with others that I know will not give me THE look. However I know certain people will give me THE look. I am determined to not be crazy one, but to be the First. I really enjoyed this post. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Sarah, thanks that’s quite an inspiring book and event from what you say. I love it when you said perfection is the lowest standard. I don’t think many people would agree with or even understand it but it makes perfect sense. Perfection doesn’t exist but we constantly try to get there. This is why people fail and this is why people are unhappy because they’re trying to achieve something that is impossible. I’ve been watching your videos on TikTok and they really are good. Keep up the good work and carry on doing what you’re doing? Thanks, Atif.

  11. Oh, yes! Yes, yes, and 100X YES! I have struggled with feeling strange about admitting to people these days that I was now into affiliate marketing after leaving a private practice in healthcare. No one quite knows what to say to me, and they definitely think I’m crazy. This is so comforting to read. Thank you for sharing the words of encouragement. It’s been a challenging couple of weeks, I’m in between two phases of this business and I haven’t been feeling the most “peppy.” This post was exactly what I needed to read today. THANK YOU!

  12. The confidence in your post is encouraging and contagious! Yes, you and all of us in this business, are worthy! We just need to accept being who we are all the time. I have also started to read more. It is not only educational, but a nice way to leave all behind for just a little while. Thanks for this post that reminds us that we all are important!
