You know when you spend weeks saying, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me?” And then, out of nowhere, it hits you like a rogue LEGO underfoot at 2 AM? Yeah… turns out, I was just tired. Who knew?
Honestly, as mums, we spend so much time making sure everyone else is fed, clothed, and surviving life that we forget about the small detail of, oh, I don’t know… existing? And if you add in a full-time job and an online business? Well, congratulations, you’ve officially unlocked ‘Zombie Mode’—a thrilling state where you function purely on caffeine and the distant memory of a full night’s sleep.
(Actual footage of me this week- at least I’m smiling!)
My body had been screaming for a break, and what did I do? Completely ignored it, of course! Instead, I kept running around like a headless chicken, muttering, “I don’t know what’s wrong with me?” REALLY, SARAH?! REALLY?!
Even my birthday rolled around, and I just… couldn’t be bothered. No extravagant plans, no big celebration—just home comforts and the simple joy of not having to decide what’s for dinner. Best gift ever.
But Seriously… Have You Ever Felt Like This?
Like you’re just not you anymore? Like you’ve spent so long being “Mum” that you kind of misplaced you somewhere between the school runs and the endless laundry pile?
If you have, tell me—what did you do to fix it? What brought you back? Because I’d love to hear it, and let’s be honest, we all need to share notes here. Drop a comment below, and trust me, you won’t just be helping me, but every other exhausted mum out there too.
The Plan to Bring ‘Me’ Back
This is the year of Sarah 2.0—a slightly less frazzled, slightly more alive version of myself. And here’s how I’m starting:
✅ First Goal: Earn enough money to buy a bunch of tulips. Because honestly, they are the superior flower. No debate.
✅ Back on TikTok! I mean, I was building a business before I melted into a puddle of exhaustion. Time to get back on track. Click HERE to follow me and join in the laugh!
✅ Weekly Blog Updates! Because let’s face it, if I don’t tell you my plans, I’ll just end up binge-watching Netflix instead.
✅ Morning Walks Are Making a Comeback! (Please send motivational messages when I inevitably try to talk myself out of it.)
✅ Planning Tomorrow, Today. Ten minutes every evening to map out the next day—less stress, more purpose, and less running around like a lunatic.
So that’s the plan. Small steps, little changes, but all leading to a better, happier, less exhausted me. If you’ve ever felt like you lost yourself along the way, just know—you’re not alone. And if you’re ready to find you again, let’s do this together. 💪
And if nothing else? At least we can all agree that tulips are the best flowers on earth. 🌷
Hi Sarah – You are so right! Everyone gets tired! But it’s good to see that you recognized it for what it was and now can come back even stronger with a better sense of what you need to do and a better idea of how to do it to try and avoid burnout. I love your plan of attack on what you plan to do to not only avoid burnout but to bring you back strong and ready for what this upcoming year has to offer. I really like your first goal in that it’s not just about the flowers, it’s about what makes you happy and what can jumpstart your day. What a great idea! Thank you for sharing and being transparent and for coming back. Sarah, we need you here as we learn from you. And, your valuable posts not only provide business lessons, but they are a nice reminder that kindness and compassion are important. Have a great week, my friend!
Thank you for your kind words Ernie, you always know what to say. I’m looking forward to getting a plan together and building my business up again x
Speaking of tulips, one of my relatives in World War II ate tulip bulbs to stay alive. Later, he was able to come to the United States and create a successful Tulip business which would have set his daughter up for life. But she became a CIA officer instead and now is retired, but would’ve done so much better as a tulip goddess. Better karma.
I am waiting for Tik Tok to ban me for political content but have never gotten so many views. In the meantime, my community for boomers and seniors is almost ready to launch. I have a good feeling about it. So glad I didn’t launch my FB lead ad about affiliate marketing, Now after a few changes, I’ll publish the lead ad for the membership!!
I’ve never felt this optimistic!!

I would have LOVED that job! Fingers crossed your TikTok stays alive and active- and I’m so pleased your feeling so excited about your new project! This is wonderful x
I totally feel you on this one! It’s so easy to get lost in the hustle of everything else and forget about taking care of “you.” Your plan sounds like a great start—especially the tulips! 🌷 For me, carving out even just 10 minutes for something that’s “just mine” (whether it’s a walk, reading, or a quick meditation) has really helped. Small moments add up. We’re all in this together, and I’m excited for Sarah 2.0! Keep going, you’ve got this! 💪
Hi, Sarah!
Sleep is underrated! It’s the cure for so much- I learned this from my Grandma.
I can get behind your mission to earn enough for tulips! I used to splurge on flowers when I was teaching, but I haven’t bought them as a usual thing since. What a great goal! Flowers change everything about our day. I love poppies, but they don’t do well in a vase. I’ll have to get some tulips and see what you mean. Have you ever seen the tulip fields? I did once. It was shocking! The smell hit me when I walked in, bringing me to a surprised standstill.
I would say good luck in finding your stride, but I know with some sleep and some flowers, you’ll magically “spring” into step.
Best wishes to you!
Nakina
Hi Sarah,
Oh wow, I feel this so much! When my kids were younger, I got completely lost in the hustle—taking care of the family, working, and just trying to keep up with everything. It’s so easy to put yourself last without even realizing it. But trust me, it’s so important to hold on to who you are. If you lose yourself in it all, it’s tough to find your way back. I love that you’re making changes for you, you deserve it! I’m glad to see you’re back and yes, tulips are 100% the superior flower! 🌷

Thank you Meredith, that’s amazing advice and I really appreciate it. I’ll be gutted when Ava grows up and leaves home so there are some positives…. I’ll want the crazy one day!
I completely understand what you’re going through, Sarah. Balancing a full-time job, an online business, and family life can be overwhelming—I’ve been juggling the same, and exhaustion sneaks up on you before you even realise it. Your plan to reclaim “you” is inspiring, especially the idea of small, intentional changes like morning walks and planning ahead; I’ve found that structuring my days helps me feel more in control, too. Wishing you all the best on your journey to Sarah 2.0
Thank you so much for your support Atif. You are so right, I didn’t see it sneak up! Thank you for the tip of structuring your my day, I’ve done it everyday since writing my blog and that’s made a huge difference. Sarah 2.0 has started better!
Oh, Sarah!
I feel this deep in my soul! It’s like we hit ‘Zombie Mode’ and just keep running on fumes until—BAM!
And the LEGO to the foot level of realization – oh how I can relate!
I love your plan for Sarah 2.0, especially the tulips! Small steps, little joys, and a bit of self-care can work wonders.
I wish you a happy, healthy, revitalized rest of the year!
All the best for you, Sarah!
