Well, I’m pleased to say the dream is still alive, and as of right now, I’ve officially saved up enough to buy half a seat to New York. Yep, that’s right—half a seat! So if you’re looking for a travel buddy who can take up a full seat, we might just be able to work something out.
What’s left? Oh, just saving for the other 2 ½ seats (because I’m doing this on my own- It’s only worth going if I can share it with my bubble) and, of course, a hotel. But hey, I’ve still got 9 weeks to pull this off. So, can I do it? I think so, but let’s break it down together.
- Out of 4 Ain’t Bad… Right?
So far, I’ve been working my behind off, and here’s how I’ve made this glorious chunk of half-a-seat money:
- TikTok Shop: I’ve been selling like crazy on TikTok, and I’ve finally hit that sweet spot between entertaining and “I swear this is a must-have.” People are buying, and I’m not mad about it! It’s the most fun I’ve had selling online—plus, it’s helping me inch closer to my New York adventure. It’s been going that well that TikTok even reached out and gave me a budget for samples, so I can even promote items that I have gifted!

This wooden sign has been an incredible seller for me, including postal bags for selling on Vinted (I actually need to buy more of these myself- Thanks for the reminder!)
- Vinted: My decluttering game has reached pro status. Old clothes, shoes, random things I bought thinking I’d use someday—all gone, well a quarter of it! You don’t realise how much crap you have around the house- and in exchange for sweet, sweet cash. Every time something sells, I get a little giddy thinking about how it’ll get me closer to my goal. All these little amounts are really adding up- It SO exciting!
3. Emails + Amazon Affiliate Links: Ah, the trusty ol’ email list! Sending out updates and recommendations with my Amazon affiliate links sprinkled in like magic. People click, they buy, and cha-ching! It’s slow, but hey, pennies make pounds—or, in this case, dollars.
Plus my daughter has realised there is a Harry Potter shop in New York, so……. The more affiliate training I can do, the better! Has anyone been in the Harry Potter shop? Do I need to be worried? Lol
What About That Mysterious 4th Way?
Oh, you mean the one I still need to learn? Yeah, about that… I haven’t forgotten! It’s still on my list—promise. I just need to figure it out first. But I’m optimistic. It’s all part of the process, right? Learning new skills, growing, and maybe a few facepalms along the way. But once I’ve nailed it, I’ll be that much closer to my full seat. (And trust me, I need a full seat!) As soon as I’ve got my head around it, I’ll keep sharing so that you can follow along too and we can learn together. Coming Soon: Facebook Leads Ads (aka My Next Big Move)
I’m currently using my evenings to learn Facebook Lead Ads. Once this is up and running, watch out world! I’ll be on my way to the next strategy—number 5! I’m not stopping at 4, oh no. I’ve got big plans, and once I figure out this lead’s thing, it’s go time.
Can I Really Save the Rest in 9 Weeks?
Do I think I can do it? Absolutely! If I’ve made it this far using just 3 of my strategies, imagine what’ll happen once I get the 4th up and running—and then move on to number 5. With nine weeks to go, there’s plenty of time for me to hustle, learn, and grow my savings.
So, stay tuned, cheer me on, and who knows? Maybe I’ll be sipping coffee in Central Park soon enough (because that’s all I’ll be able to afford once I pay for those extra seats).

I am 1/2 way there to getting up and running on that! I buy items on TikTok and amazed by the quality!! Also, I met an interesting man on TikTok- an astrologer. Congratulations on that 1/2 seat to NY. I know if you just continue what you are doing that you WILL be able to purchase the rest of your seats and the hotel, and the Harry Potter store (good luck with that as I am sure your daughter will find LOTS of things she would like to have there). I have been wanting to try the Vintage thing but just haven’t yet. I have so many clothes that others may get joy from. Keep Up Your Pace!
