Why Wait Until January? Here is How To Get Ahead Now!

Alright, let’s get real. We’ve got 7 weeks left in the year. SEVEN! While everyone else is out here saying, “I’ll start fresh in the new year!” or “New year, new me!”—you could already be halfway to your goals, looking back like, “Yeah, I did that.”

Think about it: 7 weeks is a lot of time to get ahead of the game. Imagine how good it’ll feel when everyone else is googling “how to stick to my resolutions” in January, and you’re like, “Oh, I’ve been doing this for weeks. Need me to teach you? That’ll be £50 an hour, thank you very much.”

The Truth About the “Perfect Time”

Spoiler alert: it doesn’t exist. There’s no magical Monday or shiny new calendar that suddenly makes you a productivity ninja. Waiting for the perfect time is just your brain’s way of procrastinating. And yeah, I said it.

The good news? You don’t need to have it all figured out to start. Want to lose weight? Maybe just Google a beginner workout plan. Want to make money online? Download my guide. Heck, you don’t even have to do the thing yet—just read about it. That’s progress!

Starting Now = Future You Winning Big

Picture this: it’s January 1st. Your bestie is like, “I think I’m gonna start a side hustle this year!” and you’re like, “Oh, cool. I’ve been earning for weeks already.” Future You is out there high-fiving Present You for not waiting around.

By starting now, you’re not just getting ahead—you’re building momentum. Momentum is sexy. It’s what keeps you going when things get tough. And trust me, when January rolls around and everyone’s still hungover from Christmas pudding, you’ll be unstoppable.

“But I Don’t Know Where to Start!”

Girl, nobody does. Not at first.

Step 1: Pick a goal. Any goal. (Seriously, throw a dart at your life goals list.)

Step 2: Research. You don’t need a 20-step plan; you just need a tiny first step.

Step 3: Do something. Anything. Want to run a marathon? Go for a walk today. Want to start a blog? Write one sentence. Want to learn how to make money online? Download my guide to read it…. You might even make money before Christmas!

Let’s Get Ahead of the Game

Here’s the thing: 7 weeks is more than enough time to make a serious dent in your goals. You don’t need permission, you don’t need January 1st, and you definitely don’t need to wait for the stars to align.

While everyone else is still saying, “This year will be my year! you’ll be living proof that right now is the best time to start.

So, what’s it going to be? Start today and be the boss they’re learning from in 2025—or wait, and keep watching others live your dream. You’ve got this. Now go do something about it!

Please remember tomorrow never comes.….. grab life now, make the most of every moment

(PS: If you’re reading this, that counts as step one. Congrats—you’ve already started!)

  1. You give great pep talks! I am so pumped to go for a walk! I’m giving myself a sticker each day for meeting my exercise goal, and I’m ready to go do it now. Seriously, I love beginnings. I get excited about a new school year, a season, a month, a week. My theme song I sing to my fish as I’m feeding them in the morning is Nina Simone’s Feeling Good: It’s a new day, It’s a new dawn, it’s a new life for me… Each day is a day to make great. I’m really enjoying watching your progress in your business. I love your belief in yourself and in me. It’s contagious!

  2. Hi Sarah! I absolutely love this post. There is no better time than right now. That is some advice that was given to me so long ago and it proved true. If we use the excuse to say, “I’m waiting for… money… a better job…a more stable life… or really whatever” we will never start. The best time to start is now with a good plan, a good support system and a good outlook. The best time is now. If I would have listened to myself and waited for a “better time”, the most important things in my life would have been missed. Everything that I value and everything that is valuable happened because I started and didn’t wait. Your post is gold! Have a great week, my friend!

  3. Sarah, you make great points, especially (for me) the great elusiveness of time. 7 weeks until the New Year. New Year’s resolutions that are never kept long term. Thinking about starting something—on January 1, for instance. Putting off today what you’ll never do tomorrow. The time is now. And when we start now, our future self is grateful, as you point out. Love that!

    1. Thank you Kate. I have to say, I was certainly one of those people. This year I have learnt a lot but the one thing I am proud of is learning more about me and how much time I used to waste.

      1. Hi Sarah,

It’s so easy to fall into the “I’ll start next year” mindset, but you’re absolutely right, there’s no better time than now. Seven weeks is plenty of time to make progress, and the thought of being ahead while others are just starting in January is such a great motivator. I love how you pointed out that the “perfect time” is just an excuse for procrastination, I’m so guilty of this! It really is about starting small and building momentum.

The way you broke it down into actionable steps makes it feel so achievable, and you’re right, momentum is sexy! It’s what gets you through the tough times..

Thank you for the push to stop waiting and start now. The idea of looking back on January 1st and already feeling proud of the progress made is exactly the motivation I needed today. Let’s grab life now, and no more waiting!
